The Chrome extension that converts your PDF bank statements without uploading them anywhere
ReconcilPDF also comes as a Chrome extension. It does the same work as the web app — read a PDF bank statement, extract the transactions, check the balance and produce an accounting file — without leaving the tab where the statement is already open.
What it does
- •Recognises a PDF bank statement open in Chrome and offers to convert it in one click.
- •Extracts transactions line by line, with date, description and amount.
- •Checks the accounting identity — opening balance plus credits minus debits equals closing balance — and flags any discrepancy to the cent.
- •Exports to QBO, OFX, Excel or CSV, ready to import into your software.
Why it uploads nothing
- •The parsing engine runs entirely in your browser, inside an isolated Web Worker.
- •Your statement never leaves your machine: there is no conversion server to compromise.
- •You can disconnect from the internet once the extension is open — conversion still works.
- •Designed to meet GDPR Article 25 and Quebec’s Law 25.
Installing it
- •Open the extension page on the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome.
- •Pin the icon to your toolbar so it stays within reach.
- •Open a PDF statement, click the icon, and the conversion begins.
Frequently asked questions
Is the extension free?
Installing it is free and five analyses come with your account. Beyond that it is included at no extra cost in the Pro and Firm plans.
Are my statements sent anywhere?
No. Reading the PDF and computing happen in your browser. No document is transmitted to any server, ours or a third party’s.
Which formats can I get?
QBO for QuickBooks, OFX for Quicken, plus Excel and CSV for a spreadsheet or a manual import.
Do I need an account?
Yes, so your analyses and plan follow you across devices. The account never stores your statements.
